Steaming ahead with Cut Collective

We had a very productive skype with Regan and Tosh of Cut Collective who have worked up some interesting drawings for their pavilion proposal. The structure will be modular, made from recycled/upcycled materials including wooden pallets and billboard skins. The formal modular structure will be interspersed with painted panels.

Next stage is to develop structural drawings and tests…more drawings are planned to follow next week, and I’m keen to see how this develops.

Another exciting development for me, is the location of the pavilion which is planned to be next to a fresh water lagoon, right next to the beach in Tapapakanga Park.  Amanda from Splore is negotiating with Iwi (tangata whenua – Maori peopl of the land) for use of the site, making sure there are no implications for use of that location….fingers crossed, it sounds stunning.
