from LA to Auckland

I’ve had a fantastic, if fleeting time in LA and was really pleased to get to see the Watts Towers an incredible labour of love made by one obsessive Italian man Sam Rodia over 30 years (1921 – 55). A Guadi-esque monument in the most unlikely area of LA.

Leaving LA on Friday evening, I lost an entire day by travelling through the date line to arrive in Auckland this morning (sunday). Splore Festival‘s Amanda and Mark gave me a wonderful introduction to the city taking me up to the top of Mount Eden where you get a 360 view……..

then over on a ferry to Devonport for breakfast where we came across a great example of geurrilla knitting…..
